Description
The European Union recognises the Bodanrück ridge as an "important building block within the European network of significant protected areas.” The refuge begins in Radolfzell and extends north to Überlingen Lake near Bodman and east to Constance.
Botanists appreciate the Bodanrück for its many orchids and marsh plant species. The insectivorous plants sundew and fatty herb thrive the moor areas of Mindelsee, Bündtlisried and Fischerweihermoor alongside other biome-specific specialists.
