1. Bird’s Eye View
Enjoy the most beautiful panoramic views from the Radolfzell cathedral tower. It is open to the public on Sundays and other select dates.
Insider tip: Take the elevator to the top floor of the recently renovated Austrian Castle that houses the modern city library with its cosy lounge area, books and... wonderful views.
2. Sail on the “Seewiefke”
Cruise with the Habenicht family aboard a flat bottom original “Frieslander” boat on Lake Constance. Guaranteed to put you in the perfect lake mood.
3. Visit the Radolfzell Water Gauge
Named after the Pacific weather phenomenon, the feet of El Nino are located at the pier continuously washed by Lake Constance water. Depending on the water level, one can see (more or less) the sculpture of a young man, created by German sculptor Ubbo Enninga. Locals love the reliable water gauge and "their El Nino.”
4. Prime Ribs
In 1875, Swiss manufacturers Jacques and Malwine Schiesser founded a textile factory in Radolfzell. The Schiesser garment brand became world famous and is still remembered for its famous “Fine Rib" from Radolfzell. In the seemaxx Outlet Center, buy your own “ribbed” souvenir in the Schiesser-Store.
5. Shoreline Walks
No other place on Lake Constance has a long, accessible shoreline like Radolfzell. Walking along the lakeshore path is a Must-Do in any weather.
6. Count Storks in Böhringen
The Radolfzell district of Böhringen is famous for its stork families. The count of these large white feathered birds varies each season. Counting them yourself is an experience!
7. Strolling the Market
On Wednesday and Saturday market days you can talk to vegetable farmers from the Höri, Reichenau, and Hegau who offer their products at the weekly market. On request, they will be happy to explain the difference between an ordinary onion and the very special, mildly aromatic Höri-Bülle onion. A Radolfzell speciality: the summer evening market on Thursdays starting at 4:00 pm.
8. Homburg Castle Views
Enjoy 360 degree panoramic views of Lake Constance, the Alps and the undulating ridge line of the Bodanrück. It’s a perfect place to picnic. Homburg castle is located in the Stahringen district of Radolfzell.
9. Stone Artist Sepp Bögle
The bohemian free spirit and stone artist Sepp Bögle is a local institution. Since 1997, he layers and balances fragile stone art almost daily in summer at the marina pier.
10. DIY Grilling at the Sundowner
The barbecue is always hot for anyone every Tuesday at the Sundowner Seebar and lakeside concert pavilion! Bring your own food and get grilling. Drinks available for purchase at the Sundowner bar for good times.
