The Mettnau
The Mettnau Peninsula is located east of Radolfzell on the Untersee, the western part of Lake Constance. The moraine ridge is 3.5 km long and up to 800 m wide. A large part of the Mettnau is protected. The eponymous medical rehabilitation facilities METTNAU are also located on the peninsula.
Mettnau Nature Reserve
Designated in 1938, the 140-hectare nature reserve on the Mettnau peninsula is one of the oldest protected areas in Germany, offering sanctuary for endangered animal and plant species.
